The upper panel contains the basic tools needed for quick questionnaire creation and editing. It contains mostly the elements, which are included in the top menu, so as to facilitate their access.

Using tools available in the panel, user may:

• create a new project (NEW PROJECT )
• load a previously created project from a file (OPEN A PROJECT )
• save changes to the project (SAVE CTRL+S)

• print the project structure (PRINT )

• use the cut (CUT CTRL+X), copy (COPY CTRL+C) and paste clipboard editing functions (PASTE CTRL+V)

• import a questionnaire stored on the server (IMPORT A QUESTIONNAIRE FROM THE SERVER) ) and export (EXPORT THE QUESTIONNAIRE TO THE SERVER ) the questionnaire to the server

• navigate between screens, using: back (BACK CTRL+UP) and next (NEXT CTRL+DOWN) screen commands

• launch the Questionnaire Designer help ()

• define a text color () or background color of an object shown on the screen ()

• display a grid, over the whole editing screen, which facilitates object positioning, in which grid density is controlled using icons ()

• adjust sizes of several selected objects

• make the font bold (), underscore the text () and make the text show in italics ()
• specify other font and its size ()

• specify a paragraph justification (left, default , center , or right )

• rearrange overlapping objects (bringing them to front or to back )

• insert a clip or a recording using JW Player control ()
• add a flash object ()
• insert a 3D object ()
• edit properties of the current screen ()

• invoke the script window (ALT + S )
